Zindika Kamauesi – Writer, Teacher, educationalist
Zindika is a writer, teacher and educationalist. She has been teaching for 15 years and is experienced in teaching both adults and children. Zindika is best known as a playwright. Her plays were produced in the 90s and toured nationally with the Black Theatre Cooperative. Her work was performed in collaboration with Adzido Dance Company at Sadler’s Wells and The Royal Festival Hall. Her play ‘Lenora’s Dance’ was published in ‘Seven Plays by Black and Asian Women’ (1993). Zindika is the author of several books, ‘When will I See You Again?’ (2005) and ‘A Daughter’s Grace’ (1992). ‘Valiant Women – profiles of African Women in Struggle’ is written with the intention to introduce children and young people to some of the highlights of black achievement in an education, positive and inspiring way. Ready, Steady, GOLD is her most recent book. Zindika works in education and is also completing other writing projects.
